I was late to Kiran’s reading and book signing at Elliot Bay Books, so I unfortunately missed hearing her read and only caught the tail end of her book tour partner Alice Greenway’s reading. Kiran is a very sweet person and it was great to see her again.
After the book signing I went with her, Alice, and a friend of Alice's to The Pink Door for dinner. Kiran and I exchanged news of our New York friends and of our travels of the last five years. I am pleased to learn that a colorful friend of ours has been made into a character in her new novel, The Inheritance of Loss. It's her second novel, and it has been getting some very good reviews. I am much looking forward to reading it. It was also great to meet Alice Greenway, whom I gather is an American expat residing in Scotland. Alice’s new book is White Ghost Girls.
